Landscape - Phillip Island During the period of the penal settlement on Norfolk Island, pigs, goats and rabbits were released on Phillip Island to provide a sauce of meat and sport for the Officers. As can be imagined the ecology of the island was devastated. Although a tragedy for the island the consequence is a uniquely beautiful and spectacular landscape.
